Perhaps you would like to know just a little about us as your hosts?
Well Ok - -Jenny started working life as a civil servant but left before she lost the will to live. Well suits some but not others. When we met, John was in the Metropolitan Police Force (as it was in those glorious days before pc world) so if he meets you with a greeting of 'Allo Allo Allo what 'ave we 'ere then', or says 'Mornin all' to you at breakfast - don't be surprised.
We started working in the hotel and catering industry during the 1970-80s in the Channel Islands, where we had a small private hotel, and a restaurant that won prizes at the local Salon Culiniere on more than one occasion.
During the 1990's we changed direction for quite a few years by becoming management and organisational development consultants for many companies and organisations in the UK and abroad. This meant we were often on the receiving end of the hotel and hospitality industry, and many times we were not impressed! From our own experiences we know what we like and what we expect in standards, and we will endeavour constantly to achieve and exceed those standards.
By 2002 we had had enough of extensive travelling and wanted to find a better quality of life but we didn't want to retire. So we began looking. As John was born near Shrewsbury and Jenny was born in Glamorgan we both wished to live in or on the borders of Wales, and Whitchurch is actually uniquely placed as it is on the border of 3 beautiful counties in the Wye Valley alongside the Forest of Dean so conveniently placed to Ross on Wye and Monmouth in an area of outstanding natural beauty, AONB
We couldn't wish for a more picturesque landscape!
